Remembering Shelli

This past year has brought a lot of growth and change to our agency. With that came the opportunity to welcome some wonderful new faces to our team—including Shelli, who joined our commercial insurance department just over two months ago.

Shelli came to us from one of our carrier partners, drawn to the idea of working in a smaller, close-knit office. From the moment she arrived, she brought warmth, grace, and a quiet strength that made working alongside her not just easy—but truly enjoyable. Even though her time with us was short, it meant a lot. She brought kindness, calm, and a genuine spirit that made an immediate impact.

Sadly, Shelli passed away in a car accident on the Saturday morning of Easter weekend. The news left us stunned and heartbroken. We lost more than a colleague—we lost a friend, a teammate, a daughter. She had already left an imprint on our hearts, and we will carry her memory with us.

If you’ve ever lost someone close, you know how deep that pain runs. There’s no way to prepare for it completely. But what can offer a bit of peace in the aftermath is knowing that we’ve done what we can to ease the burden for those we leave behind.

That’s what life insurance is for.

It’s one of the most compassionate decisions we can make—providing for the people we care about when we no longer can. Life insurance helps cover expenses, maintain financial stability, and create space to grieve without the added weight of financial stress.

It won’t take away the heartache, but it can help soften some of the edges.

So today, we hold Shelli close in our thoughts. And we hope her story gently reminds us all to look out for one another, to take care of our people, and to say “I love you” every chance we get.

May we all continue to find strength in each other—and comfort in the connections we’ve built.

Preparing Your Home for Severe Weather

Preparing Your Home for Severe WeatherSevere weather rarely gives us a heads-up. One moment the skies are calm, and the next, the wind is howling and rain is pounding against the windows. Over the years, I’ve heard from countless homeowners who wished they’d had just a little more time—or taken a few extra steps—before the storm rolled in. That’s why preparation matters. With the right precautions, you can protect not only your home, but also

Cyber Crimes & Kindness: When Being Helpful Costs You $30,000

Let’s talk about something that’s becoming all too common in today’s digital world: cyber crimes. Not the Hollywood-style hacking with green code raining down the screen, but the sneaky, manipulative kind that preys on good-hearted people who just want to help. Recently, one of my clients—an intelligent, thoughtful person—was taken for $30,000. Why? Because they wanted to be helpful. That’s it. No reckless clicking, no shady websites. Just a desire to do the right thing.

A Summer Journey and the Importance of Teen Driving Safety

I hope you’re finding ways to stay cool during this record-breaking summer heat! My family and I just wrapped up a 2,000-mile road trip that took us from celebrating my granddaughter’s 6th birthday in Florida to marking my son-in-law’s 40th in North Carolina. It was a trip full of laughter, love, and plenty of miles, along with a fair share of heavy traffic and unpredictable weather. Clearly, we weren’t the only ones traveling this summer.
